A congenial work environment is key! We offer many benefits: see for yourself: Work at MACD.

You have successfully completed vocational training as an IT-Administrator (or comparable qualification in IT systems administration).

You have knowledge of a broad range of topics in the field of Linux server administration and continue to build on your expertise in network operations to deepen your understanding and widen your experience.

You see yourself as a team player with strong communication skills working in a group consisting not only of your sysadmin colleagues but also the software development team members and direct contacts on the customer and partner side, all of which enables you to lead complex networking projects to success.

As a life long learner you keep your knowledge up to date and enjoy experimenting with new systems. You are keen to learn about the innovations in the area of networking such as container technologies like LXC (with Proxmox) and Docker (with Kubernetes) and are highly interested in new concepts like automatisation, SDN (Software-defined Networking) and IaC (Infrastructure as Code).

Your enthusiasm and experience will shape and manage complex networking infrastructures in our connected data centres, setting up networks and connections.

You will monitor and debug connectivity and performance problems with modern tools.

Your documentation, in our Confluence Wiki, reflects the network landscape and allows us to communicate network diagrams and connectivity details efficiently with our customers and partners.

You will work in on-boarding projects to realise new WAN connections, working closely together with our customers, partners and providers as well as the software development team from the initial requirements clarification, realisation of the new connections, through to the end-to-end acceptance testing and production go-live.

You will utilise a variety of connection methods (provider leased lines, OpenVPN/IPsec VPNs, etc.), negotiate encryption standards, configure SNAT, DNAT mappings and mange firewalls (pfsense).

You are actively driving forward the improvement as well as the simplification of our IT systems. This means evaluating new technical solutions and advancing the performance and reliability with well-aimed innovations.
